My artwork begins with an emotional response to a visual experience. I work from direct observation, memory and invention, using photographs and sketches as needed. Cityscapes, landscapes, objects and the figure have all been subjects of my work over time. My intention is to realize a sense of interconnectedness and wholeness as I work from visual experience to painted image. I hope that the work will reward looking and engage the viewer both visually and emotionally.
