Katie Weiss grew up in suburban New Jersey and Connecticut. After falling in love with art in college art history classes, she moved to New York City to study painting and earned an MFA at Queens College. She lived and worked in the city most of her adult life, and was a high school art teacher there for 29 years. Currently, she lives and works in her studio in New Jersey. In 2012 she joined the Prince Street Gallery.
